In the Autumn term year 5 pupils are expected to read regularly either independently, or where appropriate, with an adult. The emphasis should be on reading for enjoyment, however, children will also benefit from talking about what they are reading, discussing characters, setting or content and reading a variety of genres. 

TTRockstars tasks will assigned for the year and a new one will become available each week. New log ins and passwords will be sent out during the first week. 

Learning Pools will continue as previously, with new activies going out during the start of each half term. Children are encouraged in class to contribute their own ideas to the Learning Pool. Learning Pool homework will be shared and celebrated within the class. 

From January Year 5 pupils also receive one piece of additional homwork (on a Wednesday) which must be completed and submitted before the following Wednesday. Futher details are provided in the homework letter in this setion of the website. January. The aim of this additional homework is to consolidate learning as well as start preparing children for Secondary School expectations.
