PE sessions this half term are now every Monday and Friday. Fridays still remain as our swimming session. Children have been re-assessed and are now in the appropriate groups. I will now be teaching those children who are still working on their water confidence and basic swimming strokes. Please remember to bring their kit in a large bag, that enables them to place their coats and shoes in as well as their swim kit. Our theme this half term is Gymnastics. Children will learn a variety of floor and vault movements. The children will learn pike jumps, straight jump half-turns, cat leaps, forward rolls from standing, tucked backward rolls, chassis steps and the squat on vault while developing their understanding of the necessary flexibility, strength and control needed to perform the movements successfully. Children will have the opportunity to choreograph their own sequences.
PE sessions this half term are now every Tuesday and Friday. Fridays still remain as our swimming sessions, therefore children will need their swimming kit. Thank you to those parents who have provided a large bag for life for the children to be able to place their coats, shoes as well as their clothing and swim kit in. It makes it a lot easier for the children to get ready and be organised promptly for poolside. Our theme this half term is benchball. Children will be able to hone and apply the skills they learned in dodgeball last half term.

Children will need:
A suitable bag to place their swimming and school uniform and shoes in when changed. The large cuboid shaped bags are most suitable, so I've been told by the swimming teacher at Chippindale. (I have shown the children in class the type of bag that is most suitable)
Swimming costume or trunks (trunks should be well fitting - i.e not board shorts)
Children do NOT require shower gel/shampoo as there is no time after the swimming session. Children also do NOT require any extra snacks other than their usual break (fruit only).
